How music affects teenagers free essay sample

Music has been influencing individuals since the get-go. Studies appear, in any case, that music is more powerful than some other amusement media. For a scope of reasons, for example, mind-set changes, sedate/liquor use, and viciousness/conduct, science shows that music has the most effects on teenagers more than grown-ups. In this paper, I will investigate every one of these reasons. Maybe the most noteworthy influence music has on adolescents is temperament changes. Music influences states of mind from multiple points of view. For instance, on the off chance that you are miserable, a few people can hear a melody, that is cheerful and it makes them need to move and their state of mind changes definitely, inside the squint of an eye. Different occasions, music can have the contrary impact. Somebody can be glad, hear a tune, at that point they can be crushed on the grounds that the melody brought to surface disastrous or hysteric recollections. Great music has direct access to the feelings. It is an incredible device for tweaking our states of mind. Research has indicated that, through music, temperament can be adjusted and controlled and ground-breaking feelings can happen. New York Times writer Tara Parker Pope states, â€Å"Unlike visual media, music is an incredible social power that additionally takes advantage of an individual’s individual personality, recollections and temperament. † Music is an immense piece of teen’s every day experience nowadays, it isn't something handily turned away. They are certainly going to participate in it. Oxford columnist Oliver Sacks composes that â€Å"We go to music; we need it, in view of its capacity to move us, to incite sentiments and temperament, perspective. † As said by Oliver Sacks, music influences everything from temperaments to mind. Craftsmen are getting less worried about the impact they have on youthful grown-ups, thinking about the measure of medication/liquor references they put into their melodies. Clearly, tunes that involve sedate/liquor use sell the best. Tara Parker-Pope expresses that: Researchers from Pittsburgh School of Medicine, examined the 279 most well known tunes from 2005, in view of reports from Billboard Magazine, which tracks mainstream music. Regardless of whether a melody contained a reference to medications or liquor fluctuated by kind. Just 9 percent of pop tunes had verses identifying with medications or liquor. The number hopped to 14 percent for rock tunes, 20 percent for RB and hip-jump melodies, 36 percent for down home tunes and 77 percent for rap tunes. Obviously, rap has the advantage and considering most notable craftsmen are of the rap game, youngsters will in general hear them out additional. â€Å"One of the most sensational impacts of music’s is the enlistment of stupor states, which have been depicted by ethnomusicologists in almost every culture† said Oxford columnist Oliver Sacks. Teenagers appear as though they will effectively show their friendship for the craftsman, for example, taking medications or drinking liquor. They trust it will make them famous on the off chance that they do the things these tunes and specialists are discussing. Specialists in the music business need to exploit how well known they and their melodies are, and begin putting out positive messages. Rather, they exploit what sells the best or what melody gets the most hits and likes. Do they not comprehend what their verses are doing to the pre-adult? Their tunes utilize medications and alcohols appear to be cool, fun and hip. When, truly, it is executing our populace. In a perfect world, we imagine that music doesn't advance savagery and social issues for youngsters. Consistently, there is a child out there that is influenced by music. â€Å"The impact of music on society can be unmistakably observed from present day history. Music helped Thomas Jefferson compose the Declaration of Independence. At the point when he was unable to make sense of the correct wording for a specific part, he would play his violin to support him. The music helped him get the words from his cerebrum onto the paper,† (1) guide Lawrence O’Donnell, writer for Brain and Mind online paper. Not all music has negative impacts, as should be obvious. â€Å"Through sound-related methods people are impacted by sounds or large numbers of sounds which make up music which at that point may influence the body, the psyche, correspondence, temperament, and social parts of life† states Amber Johnson columnist for California State University, Northridge (1). Music can entrance the brain and make teen’s think they are a person or thing very surprising than what they are. It hooks on to their mind and changes them into this individual they never longed for being; doing things they never realized they were able to do. A wide range of music convey for all intents and purposes a similar message, just in various structures. The main explanation adolescents get out of hand is that they feel as though they need to. Doing as the tune or craftsman says gives youngsters a since of expectation, that perhaps one day they can resemble the craftsman. Youngsters are youths, it is hard enough for guardians to control their kids, including tunes in with the general mish-mash that discussion about brutality makes adolescents need to act up, and do insane things. â€Å"In the seventies, for instance, one of Bob Marley’s generally well known and tuned in to melodies, ‘I shot the sheriff’, was exceptionally famous and didn't incite such brutality. Then again, the verses of Ice T’s ‘Cop killer’ in the late spring of 1992 evoked an uproarious clamor and most warmed debate,† said Amal Saleeby author for NDU, Louaize. Many years of research have shown that presentation to savagery in music can cause increments in hostility and social issues. â€Å"Studies have since a long time ago demonstrated that media messages have articulated effect on youth chance behaviors,† says New York Times columnist, Tara Parker-Pope. Taking everything into account, mind-set changes, tranquilize/liquor use, and the expansion in viciousness/social issues, in teen’s lives, are unmistakably influenced by music. â€Å"Our sound-related frameworks, our sensory systems, are tuned for music† says Oxford Journalist Oliver Sacks. Despite your religion, foundation or ethnicity, music is all over the place and everybody is affected by it.

Cigars vs Cigarettes (an observation of recent tob Essay Example For Students

Stogies versus Cigarettes (a perception of ongoing tob Essay acco popul There are signs wherever that stogies are turning out to be mainstream once more. For instance, you cannot pass a magazine remain without seeing a few new magazines praising the subject, and eateries everywhere throughout the nation are dedicating whole evenings to smoke meals. So for what reason is the cigarette despite everything thought about hostile and is commonly despised by all? This appears to be peculiar since stogies and cigarettes share such huge numbers of things for all intents and purpose: both are made of tobacco, both are folded into tube-like shapes, and both are smoked. Be that as it may, it must be the distinctions that make the stogie quite a lot more famous. Stogies are produced using better quality tobaccos, stogies are hand rolled, and stogies have an all the more satisfying smell. The two stogies and cigarettes are developed of tobacco, however the consideration utilized in raising fine stogie tobacco is top notch. Just the best leaves of the plant are chosen. The drying and maturing process is long (nine months for filler surrenders and over to two years for wrapper leaves) and firmly viewed. Cigarette tobacco is developed for amount; not fundamentally for quality. No respect is given to the smell and smoke of the various kinds of tobacco. The main sort of tobacco developed is quick developing strains they can get to the advertise rapidly. Cautious and mindful raising is non existent. The leaves are immediately dried what's more, tossed into boxes for shipment to the moving industrial facility. Fine stogies are hand rolled, though all cigarettes are machine rolled. Counting the sort and nature of the leaf, moving is a definitive appointed authority of whether a stogie is acceptable or terrible. Stogie organizations go to extraordinary agonies to be certain they employ simply the best Torcedores (stogie rollers). On the off chance that a stogie is underfilled it will consume hot and brutal; on the off chance that it is packed it is Stopped and won't draw. To be certain that the stogies are of the best quality, one out of ten is investigated (that is two out of each container). Then again, cigarette tobacco is first stuck into cutting machines where the leaves are destroyed. Second, they go into the moving machines where the shreds are splendidly allotted, rolled, and enclosed by paper. The main people who interact with the tobacco, now, are the screens who clear up the flotsam and jetsam and add it back to the container. Since machines are accomplishing the work, there is next to no quality control. Just one out of a thousand is checked (that is one cigarette out of fifty packs). Stogie smoke is enjoyed and acknowledged, while tobacco smoke is viewed as terrible furthermore, rotten. Stogie smoke is overwhelming and powerful (its additionally difficult to escape textures), be that as it may, individuals who smoke them gigantically appreciate the thick and rich fragrance. Indeed, even non-smokers who smell one on the road will hope to see from where its coming from and regularly give you a grin and a gesture. It appears, in any case, that in the event that you light up a cigarette you get messy looks from the entire room (or everybody around you while youre outside), and in all probability even be approached to put it douse it. All in all, the fine consideration taken in developing stogie tobacco, just as the hand rolling, and the particularly extraordinary fragrance has by one way or another been re-found by this enemy of- tobacco age. Deals are up 500 percent over the most recent seven years, while cigarettes are still detested by all, even by numerous individuals of the individuals who smoke them. Perhaps, if the cigarette organizations would improve the nature of their item, they as well could appreciate the reestablished enthusiasm for tobacco. .ue4e8956e61eca9b5e5f0a42861f8239f , .ue4e8956e61eca9b5e5f0a42861f8239f .postImageUrl , .ue4e8956e61eca9b5e5f0a42861f8239f .focused content territory { min-stature: 80px; position: relative; } .ue4e8956e61eca9b5e5f0a42861f8239f , .ue4e8956e61eca9b5e5f0a42861f8239f:hover , .ue4e8956e61eca9b5e5f0a42861f8239f:visited , .ue4e8956e61eca9b5e5f0a42861f8239f:active { border:0!important; } .ue4e8956e61eca9b5e5f0a42861f8239f .clearfix:after { content: ; show: table; clear: both; } .ue4e8956e61eca9b5e5f0a42861f8239f { show: square; change: foundation shading 250ms; webkit-progress: foundation shading 250ms; width: 100%; darkness: 1; progress: mistiness 250ms; webkit-change: murkiness 250ms; foundation shading: #95A5A6; } .ue4e8956e61eca9b5e5f0a42861f8239f:active , .ue4e8956e61eca9b5e5f0a42861f8239f:hover { obscurity: 1; progress: haziness 250ms; webkit-change: darkness 250ms; foundation shading: #2C3E50; } .ue4e8956e61eca9b5e5f0a42861f8239f .focused content region { width: 100%; position: relat ive; } .ue4e8956e61eca9b5e5f0a42861f8239f .ctaText { outskirt base: 0 strong #fff; shading: #2980B9; text dimension: 16px; textual style weight: intense; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; content enhancement: underline; } .ue4e8956e61eca9b5e5f0a42861f8239f .postTitle { shading: #FFFFFF; text dimension: 16px; textual style weight: 600; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; width: 100%; } .ue4e8956e61eca9b5e5f0a42861f8239f .ctaButton { foundation shading: #7F8C8D!important; shading: #2980B9; fringe: none; outskirt span: 3px; box-shadow: none; text dimension: 14px; text style weight: striking; line-tallness: 26px; moz-outskirt range: 3px; content adjust: focus; content design: none; content shadow: none; width: 80px; min-tallness: 80px; foundation: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/modules/intelly-related-posts/resources/pictures/basic arrow.png)no-rehash; position: supreme; right: 0; top: 0; } .ue4e8956e61eca9b5e5f0a42861f8239f:hover .ctaButton { foundation shading: #34495E!important; } .ue4e8956e61eca 9b5e5f0a42861f8239f .focused content { show: table; tallness: 80px; cushioning left: 18px; top: 0; } .ue4e8956e61eca9b5e5f0a42861f8239f-content { show: table-cell; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; cushioning right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-adjust: center; width: 100%; } .ue4e8956e61eca9b5e5f0a42861f8239f:after { content: ; show: square; clear: both; } READ: In Cold Blood Review EssayCategory: English .

Social Media Marketing Essay - 2475 Words

Social Media Marketing (Essay Sample) Content: Social Media MarketingName:Course:Tutor:College:Date:Social Media Marketing 1 Executive SummarySocial media marketing refers to process where a product strives to gain popularity, traffic and attention through the use of social media (Gould, 2013). The effort centres on the effort to create contents that attract readers and as well encourage them to share within their networks. In essence, it is usually easier to win the masses through third party messages about a product rather than first-hand information about a product. Social media platform have gained huge penetrations to virtually any person who has access to the internet. They allow interactions and help to share and receive feedbacks making the employees gain a sense of ownership and thus gaining the trust in the products (Mashable, 2013).Our product is a Smartphone from Panasonic group. We decided to target this product because comparing to the other competing Smartphone in the market. One would easily notice that the product is not among the most popular in the social media. Competition from Appleà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s I phone Samsung, Black belly, and others. There is a need to boost the awareness and hopefully raise the profile of the product amongst the completion. Social media has been agreed to be a leading driver in the marketing of Smartphone. Thousands of articles have been written, previews and reviews, tech opinions issued amongst other online battles in the effort to create superior brands. A recent tussle is the one between Samsung and I phone. Thousands of articles and social network sharing were employed and in the end, the two leading brands in the Smartphone were created. Our aim is to use similar tactics to promote the Panasonic brand of smart phones. 2 OverviewPanasonic online presence is not much. Facebook being one of the most widely used social media, we expect that a global company of Panasonic status to command a large following. However, the company's online presence is n ot that impressive. For instance, its Facebook official page has less than 400k likes. A quick check at twitter that is the second most used social platform reveals that the organization has only just over 41k followers. These are significantly small numbers compared to the global market in which they operate. Our strategy is first to increase the brand popularity in the smart phone market. This is a slight uphill task considering there are many players in this market some of which are already established and have been running for some time. The first step is to re-establish the position of the brand name in the technology leaders. Panasonic has been on and around for sometimes and thus even though not very popular; it's well known. Using a series of combined traditional media and social media marketing campaigns, we shall strive to first re-establish the brand position amongst the leading competitors. From there, we shall need to define the target audiences. The target audience will enable us to be able to decide on the right channels and the nature of the adverts. The Smartphone market is for the young adults and as well the youthful populations. Coincidentally, the above population is the one that is mostly involved in the social media. Thus, the use of social media is the ideal strategy to market the Smartphone.Upon increasing the brand popularity, the next step will be to channel the efforts in increasing the number of shares among the social media users. This will lead to a dominance in the popularity and hopefully lead to a rise in the sales. The second approach is to study the competitorsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ strategies in the social media. In this effort, we will be able to learn the best practices and pick on the trends without much hassle. One of the trends that was employed in the successful launch and increase the popularity of the leading brands in the smartphone industry is the social media share. The competition has successfully used this strategy and has r eaped big in it. The use of bloggers especially the tech sites is also widely used to promote these products. A combination of all the above procedures will yield to an improvement in the popularity and market share of our product. 3 Analysis of the CompetitionA report from the International Data Corporation in the year 2014 indicated that the market share of the smartphones grew to take 27.5% of the total mobile phone market. This was a whopping 335 million units in only the second quarter of the year. The number is expected to grow in the coming years as the smartphone market share continues to rise in the coming years. The leading phones run on Android OS.Below is a table detailing the major players in the smartphone industry and the percentage market shares as at the third quarter of the year 2014.Table 1SamsungIt continued to dominate the market, but it was the only company that depicted negative year to year growth. From competition from all corners, coupled with the slowing d emand of its products, the company in an effort to avert the situation launched Galaxy alpha and revamped the galaxy note 4.AppleApple continued to produce positive growth. There was an enormous anticipation of the release of iPhone 6 and six plus. The majority of the demand was driven by the iPhone 5C and 5S models that had high demand in the market by then.XiaomiThis was a new entrant in the top ranked. The company is based in China and serves China and as well adjacent market regions. The company has seen immense growth resulting in triple digits in the past few yearLenovoThe smartphone has seen a steady growth in the past few years. The emerging market regions include Middle East, Asia, and Pacific and as well Africa drove the demand for these gadgets.LGIt's increased the dominance in the market through release of lower end market. This boosted its sales volume. The company also launched G3 to continue holding on its share of the high-end market (International Data Corporation, 2014).Looking at each of the smart phones marketing strategies; Samsung thrived on great contents, social share and the diversification of their phones to fit different peoplesà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ needs. iPhone strategy has been to build upon the demand before the launch of the products. They can get the customers in anticipation of the expected releases and as well get pre-orders. Xiaomi capitalized on the market segments and was able to build a strong brand where the two leading were not able to fully penetrate. It offered high-end phones but at a slightly lower cost. Lenovo and LG at the fourth place have as well been able to keep their brand amongst the top notch mobiles in the market.Panasonic market share is not even mentioned amongst the top 5 in the market currently. However, going by the example of the current market leaders, the Samsung mobile, wide marketing campaigns saw it reach the highest position and topping even the fiercest competitors. iPhones Great online contents, market ing strategies that fitted the consumer needs, sharing and acting on the feedbacks show the company grow to reach the highest level. Panasonic lack similar strategies that the market leaders used to achieve their highest levels. 4 Traditional AdvertPanasonic launched a new smartphone on July 2014 by the brand name Panasonic Eruga U. This was supposed to be a high-end product that was scheduled to compete with the leading brands currently in the market. The brand and the specification are all right, it has gotten some positive reviews from tech blogs and as well the users. However, the brand did not propel the company to the position that it was expected to. It has been branded as a fail by some of the marketing analysts. There are speculations on its withdrawal from the market barely six months after its launch that is evidence of the unsuccessful launch and marketing. We reviewed a traditional TV advert that was supposed to be the main advert of the new smartphone. It was designed as a revolutionary phone with a group of young adults whom upon acquiring gained reasonably stylish transformation. The advert is eye catching and very relevant; however there was the need to couple that with a series of online debates to build up in the anticipation and drive up the demand (Panasonic, 2014). 5 The Body of the Plan 1 Marketing ObjectivesOur company from the above reports and deductions is suffering from various issues. Below is a of that we aim to achieve by the end of the marketing process. * Increase brand awarenessOne of the major setbacks in the growth and development of our organization in terms of the sales of the Smartphone is the lower popularity as compared to the competition. After the launch, the brand failed to kick off as expected. This follows since, in spite of the fact that the product was perfect with good features as compared to the other smartphones; its brand name was not popular in the smartphone market. In order to gain superiority in the marke t, there is need to introduce an innovation that will catch the eyes of even the bigger players. A classic example the series the smart watch or the introduction intelligent motions including automatic when takes the phone to their ears mart and smart screen lightings and so .These innovations, when they were introduced in the market, were phenomenon. They captured the attention of everyone and for that reason created superiority in the market and this translated to sales.Another way of stirring growth in the brand position is asserting on the strong products. Panasonic is among the leaders in the desk phones and office communication solutions. In their adverts, the company should mention how they have harnessed from such experience to create a masterpiece. Then highlight some key features of the product that will differentiate it from the rest of the phones in the...

Tourism and Leisure Marketing Essay - 3300 Words

Tourism and Leisure Marketing (Essay Sample) Content: Benefits of Tourism to the Host CommunitiesName:University:Course:Date:Benefits of Tourism to the Host CommunitiesTourism is a synthesis of various activities including accommodation, transport sector, hospitality and the entertainment sectors. Therefore, tourism and all its functions are closely related to infrastructural development in the respective areas. Tourism is a large sector that greatly contributes to economic, social and cultural development. Nelson defines tourism as a set of socioeconomic activities carried out either for or by the tourists.[Dr. Nelson, Robert. Handout for the Session Impacts of Tourism on Host Communities, Executive MBA Program, 2005] The major rationale of promoting tourism in the developing countries has been to earn for foreign exchange. Tourism also creates avenues for employment opportunities. Therefore, tourism is a potential instrument for eliminating poverty, promoting dialogue among the citizens and ending unemployment. Tourism plays a significant role in the socioeconomic development of most communities across the globe. Tourism comes with a number of impacts which could be broadly categorized under social, economic, political and cultural impacts. These impacts, according to Nelson could either be positive or negative.[Dr. Nelson, Handout, 2005.] The most significant economic impact of tourism to a community is the creation of employment opportunities. According to Holloway and Robinson, the money brought into a region by tourists enhances the establishment of small business enterprises, promoting a positive image of the subject areas. The tourism activities transfer large sums of money from the developed nations to the less developed ones. Therefore, it can be asserted that tourism is a source of income to the immediate communities because the amount of money brought by tourists trickles down to the lowest levels of the community. A tourist makes the preliminary expenditures into the society, which is in most instances received as income by the local people who act as tour guides, shopkeepers, hoteliers, and taxi drivers.[Holloway Robinson. "Marketing for tourism", Longman: Harlow, UK,1995] The money spent by tourists multiplies than the original spending as income. The multiplier effect of international tourism manifests itself as employment, sales, income or output multipliers. Other than being a source of day to day income, tourism is a source of foreign exchange. Mill notes that tourism in India and the South of Sahara is a significant source of foreign exchange to the countries. As compared to exportation, tourism serves as a better source of foreign exchange since the countries are less developed industrially. Mill notes that tourism in India and the South of Africa contributes to over 10% of the total foreign exchange collected.[Mill, R. C. Morrison, A. M, "The tourism system: an introductory text", Prentice Hall International: Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, USA, 1992, p . 52] Generation of employment is yet another economic effect of tourism on the community. Inskeep notes that the tourism industry is highly labor intensive, thereby proving to be an invaluable source of employment to the immediate community. A number of businesses are established and tend to flourish because of tourism. For example, motels, hotels, transport agencies, restaurants, tour operators, curio shops, and rickshaw drivers are some of the many jobs created by the tourism activities.[Inskeep, Edward, "Tourism planning: an integrated and sustainable development approach", Van Nostrand Reinhold: New York. 2013, p. 25] Through tourism, a large number of people are employed to provide a range of services. In most cases, the services are required from the semi-skilled and the unskilled individuals. Only a portion of the services and jobs in the tourism industry require highly-skilled personnel. Support industries and services are developed because of tourism. Examples of support i ndustries include entertainment, food service, accommodation, and automobile. Tourism allows infrastructural development such as the establishment of roads, hospitals, and show grounds among other social public amenities. The rise of infrastructural development enhances the growth of the private sector.[Mills Morrison, The Tourism, 52] According to Mill and Morrison, tourism is among the fastest growing industry globally with multiple activities. The inputs in the tourism industry provide the basis for traders to expand their businesses or launch new products. Therefore, tourism increases investment opportunities. The tourism industry plays a significant role in poverty reduction5. Tourism promotes handicrafts too and literacy. Through tourism, the societal attitudes towards education changes and courses such as hotel management, food nutrition, and fashion design are broadly offered. Tourism also has a number of social and cultural impacts to the community. However, the impacts a re dependent on the culture and way of life of the host communities. The interaction that arises between the hosts and tourists might change the local traditions, customs and standards.[Mill, R. C. Morrison, A. M, "The tourism system: an introductory text", Prentice Hall International: Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, USA, 1992] [Dr. Nelson, Robert. Handout for the Session Impacts of Tourism on Host Communities. Executive MBA Program, 2005] Nelson writes that the interaction between people from diverse backgrounds with different ways of life tends to modify the lifestyles of the host communities. It is possible that the mix between tourists and the hosts improves the lives of the locals through upraised infrastructure required to sustain tourism. Better education associated with tourism changes the primitive thinking that some societies hold. For example, in the instance where the people do not believe in medicine because of culture, education has the potential of changing such a bel ief. Tourism also promotes the cultural practices of the host community through social events such as entertainment and exhibitions. Tourists enjoy viewing the local dances and traditional ceremonies. Therefore, the tourism industry not only boasts the culture of a community but also improves sports and leisure facilities.[Robert, Handouts, 52] [Mill Morrison. The Tourism,] Tourism promotes societal and national cohesion where the opportunities of youth exchange programs, home swap programs and village tourism and developed. Scenery vista appeals to tourists whether natural or man-made. The term environment in respect to tourism includes mountain ranges, historic sites, coastal cities, cultural sites, villages, pictures and national monuments. These features provide a stimulus for travelling. The effect of tourism to the environment presents itself positively. The local communities tend to conserve these tourist sites because of the associated economic and social benefits. Therefor e, the environment is protected.Tourism activities transfer large sums of money from the developed nations to the less developed ones. Therefore, it can be asserted that tourism is a source of income to the immediate communities because the amount of money brought by tourists trickles down to the lowest levels of the community. A tourist makes the preliminary expenditures into the society, which is in most instances received as income by the local people who act as tour guides, shopkeepers, hoteliers, and taxi drivers. A number of businesses are established and tend to flourish because of tourism. For example, motels, hotels, transport agencies, restaurants, tour operators, curio shops, and rickshaw drivers are some of the many jobs created by the tourism activities.[Dr. Nelson, Robert. Handout for the Session Impacts of Tourism on Host Communities. Executive MBA Program. 2005] Pressure groups that advocate for conservation of natural ecosystems agitate for the allocation of funds to preserve the environment. These funds being agitated for come from the tourism industry. According to Mathieson and Wall, environment tends to be conserved where the local community is largely involved in the tourism industry.[King, D. and Stewart, W. à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹Å"Ecotourism and commodification: Protecting people and placesà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬, Biodiversity and Conservation, vol. 5, 1996, pp. 293-305.] Other than the social, economic and environmental impacts, tourism also has positive cultural effects on the host community. Tourism has the potential to maximize the accessibility of the current cultural resources. Through tourism, people are trained to serve as interpreters of the areaà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s cultural heritage. The foreign culture of the tourist might sometimes be uncomfortable to the host community. However, this uncomfortable situation could be tolerated and, therefore, promote peace and cohesion. Most tourists come from the Western European countries which have very little cultu ral identification or practices. The mode of dressing and general conduct that these tourists hold is in most instances, a contradiction to what the local communities of Africa and Asia believe. The result of these different cultures is cultural collision as it might take long before the tourists adapt to the norms of the host community.[Mathieson, A. Wall, G., "Tourism: economic, physical and social impacts", Longman: Harlow, UK., 1982] The positive and negative effects on the communityà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s cultural principles are largely a function of carrying capacity. Simoni and Mihai define carrying capacity as a measure of renewable that can comfortably sustain the lives of the organisms living in a particular environment7. To assist the visiting tourists appreciate the natural environment is by creating awareness of the significance of these resources. Sensory features such as sounds, smells, and sights must be preserved if...

The Asian Longhorned Beetle Prevention and Control

Trees favored by the Asian longhorned beetle are predominantly maples, but infestations have also been discovered in horse-chestnuts, poplars, willows, elms, mulberries, and black locusts. Currently, there is no known practical chemical or biological defense against the Asian Longhorned Beetle and, in North America, they have few natural predators. How Trees Killed Are Killed by ALB The Asian longhorned beetle is a black insect with white speckles that grows a long antenna. The beetle chews its way into hardwood trees to lay eggs. The eggs produce larvae and those larvae tunnel deep under the bark and feed on living tree tissue. This feeding effectively cuts off the trees food supply and starves it to the point of death. How ALB Spreads Studies have shown that an Asian long-horned beetle can fly as far as several city blocks in search of a new host tree. The good news is that the beetle tends to lay eggs in the same tree from which they emerged as adults — they usually limit their flights under normal conditions. Prevention Unfortunately, there are no methods developed to practically prevent or control Asian longhorned beetle. If you detect the presence of ALB, the only thing that will help is to contact local forestry officials for consultation. They can take steps to contain the outbreak. The only way currently known to combat the Asian Longhorned Beetle is to destroy the infested trees. While cutting down mature trees is not a great solution for the tree owner and a tragedy, it is preferable to permitting the Asian longhorned beetle to spread.
